St. Gregory's celebrates renovated gym floor

St. Gregory Barbarigo School recently celebrated the unveiling of their newly renovated gymnasium floor and air conditioners.

Principle for St. Gregory, Susan Martin, says the journey started a year ago when the their PTO decided to take charge of the fundraising.

"So that PTO suggestion then evolved into a 'protect the nest' steering committee.  Their goal was to replace the gym floor and then 2 air conditioning units on the building.  At that point, our fundraising goal jumped from $40,000 to $100,000.  Then with all the help of our donors, we not only met the goal but exceeded that."

Before the renovations, the gymnasium floor was the original floor from 1996 when the building was constructed. Martin says that she is grateful to the community for helping them exceed their fundraising goals and complete their renovations.
